Unique and Beautiful - a Valentine Card to Keep

These lovely cards have been hand crafted in coloured Lokta paper which is a medium weight, textured paper with a soft handle.

The pale pink heart is cut-out from silk rag paper and the smaller hearts are made from silk paper made using hand-dyed silk fibres and CMC paste. Click here to learn more about making silk paper with adhesive mediums

If you click the ENLARGE option below any of the photographs you will be able to see how the Valentine cards were embellished in greater detail.

In the image above, the pink card has layers of different sized hearts. The hand-dyed leaves have been placed carefully to emulate the shape of a heart and the hand-made silk paper heart on top has been machine stitched with gold thread.

The card, pictured to the left, also has layers of heart shapes. The final heart has been randomly stitched with pink thread.
