Silk Papermaking
|
|
Silk papermaking or silk fusion is a paper-mâché
type technique for creating textured paper or 3d objects using silk fibres
combined with an adhesive medium. The technique can be adapted to combine
cellulose fibres such as cotton or bamboo sliver, paper, skeleton leaves,
dried petals and scrim.
In this section you will find the tools and materials to
create your fused silk 'paper'. Browse the vibrantly coloured,
hand-dyed silk fibres or if you prefer the undyed silk fibres. Take a
moment to see the interesting selection of plant fibres or the great
selection of inclusions to add more interest.
The Methyl Cellulose granules are of archival quality
ensuring longevity of your handmade paper, while the acrylic based Silk
Paper Medium helps to repel moisture making the finished paper more durable
